2006 Chrysler Pacifica Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain an Evaporator for Optimal Performance on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: You should start by taking out the HVAC housing and undoing its components to get to the A/C evaporator. Take out the evaporator and insulator from inside the lower half without letting the insulator touch the steel. If damaged, replace it before you continue. If you have to, remove the insulator from the evaporator section of the A/C. After changing the A/C evaporator, pour 50 milliliters (1.7 fluid ounces) of the proper refrigerant oil into the system for your vehicle's compressor. If you are removing the insulator, set it on top of the A/C evaporator so it is aligned with the clean and unblocked evaporator drain inside the HVAC housing and the insulator and flange are put into place. Later on, install the evaporator for the air conditioner in the lower part of the housing and make sure to close the seal. Assemble and set up the housing last.
