2006 Chrysler Pacifica Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Blend Door Actuator in a Dual Zone HVAC System on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: To work on the blend door actuator, first disconnect and isolate the negative (ground) cable from the battery in cars with air bags to prevent the air bag system from unexpectedly working and wait at least two minutes. Each side of the car has its own blend door actuator in the dual zone system. The first step is to take out the silencer from the front end of the instrument panel on the driver's side. First, take out the connector from the wire harness at the serviced blend door actuator. Then, remove the screws holding the actuator where it meets the HVAC air distribution housing and pull out the actuator. With the actuator on the air distribution housing, check that the splines at the end of its shaft matched those on the blend air door linkage. Use the two screws to keep the actuator secure, tightening each one to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.), before connecting the HVAC wire harness connector again. After that, put the silencer back under the driver side end of the instrument panel, reconnect the negative battery cable and adjust the A/C-heater control.
