2006 Chrysler Pacifica Wheel Stud Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace Wheel Studs on the Front Wheels on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: To replace the studs, lift up the car, remove the wheel and take off the tire. Following this, take out both bolts that are holding the disc brake caliper adapter on the steering knuckle and remove the disc brake assembly, supporting it so you don't pull the brake hose too hard. Take the brake rotor straight off the ends of the wheel mounting studs. The wheel stud should next be removed by having a wheel mounting nut installed until it reaches the end of the nut, then attaching the Remover, Special Tool C-4150A, to the hub and bearing flange with the stud. Squeeze the Remover to take out the wheel stud from the hub flange; once the wheel stud's shoulder has gone past the flange, get rid of your special tool and unscrew the nut along with the stud. Replacement is done by inserting the new wheel stud into the hub, fitting the washers below it, then turning the standard wheel mounting nut flat-side down against the washers. After you've tightened the nut and the wheel stud is inside the hub, take out the nut and the washers. First, clip the brake rotor to the hub and bearing, next place the brake caliper and adapter on top, ensuring the adapter is aligned with the knuckle holes. Screw the adapter to the motor with the two mounting bolts, making sure you tighten them to 169 Nm (125 ft. lbs.) torque. Slot in the wheel and tire assembly into the suspension arms, tightening the wheel nuts in the right order to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), lower the car and take it out for a road test to see if the brakes are working well.
