2006 Dodge Dakota Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Engine Mount on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first step to working on the rear engine mount is to raise the car on a hoist and jack up the transmission. Take out the nuts from the transmission mount 1 and the two bolts which secure the transmission mount to the engine bracket. Raise the transmission a little to move the mount at crossmember 2 out of the way, then remove mount 1. Threadlock each bolt going into the transmission bracket, apply the compound and torque them to the required value of 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Want the mount studs to align with their spots in the crossmember. Set the nuts onto the studs connected to the transmission mount through the access hole on the crossmember and tighten them to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
