2006 Jeep Commander Wheel Stud Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace Wheel Studs on the Rear Wheels on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: You should support the car by raising it, take out the wheel assembly, then the brake caliper and disc, before you start replacing the studs. Take out stud 2 of the hub using Remover 8677 and remove stud 1 from between the hub/bearing and brake shoes 2. The way to install is to put the Blind Nut Stud 1 onto the hub flange so that it always sits between the hub/bearing and the park brake shoes 2 when you rotate the stud. Add three washers to the stud and then attach the lug nut, so the flat side is touching the washers as you tighten. Pull the stud completely into the hub once the nut is tight. When the lug nut and washers are removed, set the brake rotor and caliper back in place, followed by putting the wheel and tire assembly on with a fresh lug nut on the replaced studs. After that, remove the support and lower your vehicle.
