2006 Jeep Liberty Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Locate, Remove, and Install a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: You will find the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor in the water jacket right before the generator at the rear end of the intake manifold. Make sure not to get harmed by hot, pressurized coolant, so first drain the cooling system to about mid-level. After that, pull out the sensor by unplugging its electrical connector from the intake manifold. Thread sealant should be applied to the sensor posts just before you install the sensor in the engine again. Screw the coolant temperature sensor tight to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.) and add enough coolant to refill the engine.
