2007 Jeep Commander Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Blend Door Actuator for Panel/Defrost/Demist/Floor on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: To set up the mode door actuator for the panel/defrost/demist/floor, mount it in the car and secure it to the left of the HVAC air distribution housing. If needed, turn the actuator a little to position the splines on the output shaft evenly with the splines on the mode door cam. Place the screws that join the actuator to the air distribution housing, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) and join the HVAC wire harness connector to the actuator. On LHD models, fit the instrument panel silencer to the driver's side of the instrument panel, whereas the battery should go in the left instrument panel on RHD models. Attach the negative battery cable into the battery again. To securely fix the mode door actuator at the 2nd row/console position, set it into the vehicle and attach it to the rear of the HVAC air distribution housing while matching the splines on both output and pivot shafts. Fix the actuator to the rear end of the housing with the two screws, fastening them to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Then, connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the actuator. Once all is secure, install the instrument panel and hook the negative battery cable back on.
