2007 Jeep Wrangler Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an Evaporator on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The evaporator core should be serviced or repaired after the air bag system is disconnected for two minutes following the battery cable switch. Ensuring this is necessary as accidental air bag deployment could bring about personal injuries or death. First, take the HVAC housing assembly out and put it on a workbench and then get rid of the air distribution assembly from the HVAC housing. After that, separate the A/C expansion valve from the A/C evaporator and make sure to change the damaged or deformed foam seal on the valve's flange. Remove the seal from the top of the HVAC housing's flange, remove the four screws holding the flange to the housing and then remove the flange. Should the foam insulator on the evaporator become damaged or out of shape, it needs to be changed. Lastly, remove the A/C evaporator as well as its insulator from the home of the HVAC units.
