Before beginning brake proportioning/combination valve repairs, make sure you take safety precautions. Depress the brake pedal further than one inch (25 mm) and hold it there using a brake pedal holder which stops the master cylinder from losing brake fluid. Removing the air filter cover and hose to the throttle body will make it simpler to reach the lower left rear proportioning valve. Afterwards, loosen the brake tube 4 or 5 from the proportioning valve that has to be unplugged and then take the proportioning valve 1 or 3 out of the master cylinder 2.
