2008 Jeep Commander A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove an A/C Condenser on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: The A/C condenser can only be removed once the negative battery cable has been separated and insulated. Remove the refrigerant from its system in the vehicle. Remove the grille after that, take out the air filter housing and tube and don't bother with the hood latch if the radiator crossmember still holds the hood latch. Remove the upper radiator crossmember and support bracket and move them someplace they won't interfere while working. Depending on your vehicle's system, either discard the cooling lines or position the converter so that it won't interfere with the process. Take out the lines leading from the transmission fluid cooler to the radiator and stop up the fittings on each with plugs or tape. Cut the A/C condensing line from the A/C condenser, open the screw that holds the receiver/drier to the radiator fan shroud and separate the receiver drier tube from the A/C condenser. Take out the last four bolts on the A/C condenser and lift it straight up and out of the engine compartment.
