When changing the parking brake shoes on each side of your vehicle, install one side at a time before adjusting everything. Put the front brake shoe on the adapter, run the hold-down pin through it from the rear end and attach the clip to secure the shoe, but make sure the clip is well away from other parts. Install the upper shoe return spring on each shoe, next pull the back brake shoe over the anchor block and place it on the adapter to make sure the actuator lever of the parking brake is where it should be between the front and rear shoes. After that, fix the lower return spring to the shoes and get the brake shoe adjuster between the front shoes and the back shoes, with the star wheel pointing to the back of the car. Push the hold-down pin straight through the rear shoe and clip it in place, ensuring that the clip is far from other parts. Use a brake shoe gauge and set the parking brake shoes to a diameter of 171 mm (6.75 inch). Put the hub and bearing onto the rear spindle, bolt down a new hub and bearing retaining nut and tighten it to 217 Nm (160 ft. lbs.). Put in the hub, dust cap and then fit the brake rotor. Set the disc
Brake Caliper on the rotor and on the brake adapter, secure them with the caliper guide pin bolts and tighten the bolts to 22 Nm (192 in. lbs.). Now, attach the wheel and tire assembly, tighten the mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), check and fix the parking brakes and bring the vehicle to the ground again.
