You should first open the hood, detach the negative
Battery Cable and wait for two minutes to ensure the air bag reserve capacitor is discharged before removal. Set the steering column in the highest point possible. Take a small piece of trim stick or anything similar and gently open the upper corners of the under column cover on both sides of the steering column. To release the loop tabs, first pull on the under
Steering Column Cover and then reach down through the column to push on the loop at the bottom to come free from the reinforcement tab. Unscrew one screw from the end cap from the left side of the instrument panel, unsnap the cap and disconnect the power mirror electrical connector if you have one. Remove the two upper screws that fix the knee blocker air bag trim cover to the column, one from each side. Using your hand through the access panel beside the knee blocker air bag, release the hook and loop straps on the upper side of the knee blocker air bag. The next step is to loosen the two torx bolts securing the knee blocker air bag to the instrument panel, as the knee blocker air bag trim cover will come off the hooks along the side at this point.
