Q: How to Install a Steering Column Cover on the Instrument Panel on Chrysler 300?
A:
If the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement (1) is not already in place, first put (1) onto the bracket (2) before installing the steering column opening cover. Attach the reinforcement to the bracket by fixing the screws (3) into place. Following this, put the steering column cover in the vehicle and link the release cable to the emergency brake handle located outside. If you have the wire harness, link the connector (3) to the trunk release switch. Mount the steering column cover to the instrument panel, making sure the clutch retainers are found at the top and right edges after you push down. Securely tighten the bottom two and top two screws that join the steering column cover (1) to the instrument panel.
Q: How to Remove and Install a Steering Column Cover on Chrysler Town & Country?
A:
Slowly release the belt loops using a trim stick at the right edge of the lower steering column cover. Then, pull the cover gently back toward yourself to pop out the spring clips and take it off the vehicle. Following this, unscrew the three fasteners holding the end cap to the panel and slide it forward to remove it and release the spring clips. Make sure the end cap is fitted where the accident occurred, then push the spring clips into their holes. Connect the left side of the cover to the column, fit the ridge along the bottom of the cover into the end cap and next, aim the cover toward the instrument panel so its belt loops fit into place beneath it. Place the lower steering column cover where it belongs, slide in and clip each of the spring clips and screw the two bolts.
