To service and repair the rear bumper cover, first open the liftgate and remove the four push pin fasteners and two screws located at the step pad area. After that, the rear wheel splash shields can be removed by removing the plastic rivets at the wheel wells and the two push pin fasteners. First, the nuts must be removed at the inner back sides of the quarter panels. Then, remove the fascia. Then, disconnect the electrical connector. Detach the 4 push pin fasteners and energy absorber. Then, disconnect the park assist electrical sensors. Finally, proceed to remove the park assist sensors. The installation of park assist sensors if equipped followed by the energy absorber and the four push pin fasteners. The fascia should be positioned on the vehicle and the electrical connector connected by spreading the sides of the fascia slightly to avoid any painted surface contact. To install the screws and four push pin fasteners, align the slots in the upper sides of the fascia with the two t-pushpins on either side. Install the two lower push pin fasteners, secure the nuts and tighten to 9 N.m, and attach new rivets to secure the wheelhouse splash shields to the fascia.
