- Q: How to Install an Intake Manifold and Its Components on Jeep Grand Cherokee?A:First, install the intake manifold gaskets and after that position the intake manifold. Hold the intake manifold in place by installing the retaining bolts and tightening them according to the guide to a torque of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Then, set up the fuel rail and the EGR tube and screw in the top oil dipstick tube retaining bolt. The throttle body should be torqued correctly to prevent damage that might result in the throttle plate not working; insert the O-ring, then attach the throttle body to the intake manifold and fix it with four bolts tightened to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). Go ahead to install the ignition coil towers and hook up the electrical connectors for the MAP Sensor, CTS Sensor and ignition coil towers. Attach the generator and the air conditioning compressor and afterwards connect the Vapor purge hose, Brake booster hose and PCV hose. Insert the ETC connector on the throttle body, fill the cooling system and pick up the engine with engine support fixture # 8534. Bolt in the side engine mount to the frame and then get the support fixture off the engine. After that, set up and attach the resonator assembly and the air inlet hose, reattach the negative cable to the battery and run the ETC Relearn function using the scan tool.

After you have seated the intake manifold and installed the seals, fit the fuel injectors and assembly, link the fuel harness and insert the engine coolant temperature sensor. Join the supply hose from the heater to the manifold, along with the radiator upper hose and link the fuel line as well. Next, add the upper intake manifold, plug in the negative battery cable again, repeat filling the cooling system and connect the negative battery cable a third time.
