How to Service and Repair the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor for the 3.7L Engine on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The very first step for servicing and repairing the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on the 3.7L engine is to inspect the O-ring 2. You should also clean out the sensor mounting hole inside the intake manifold. Put the sensor into the intake manifold and turn it clockwise until it passes the release tab. The last step is to put in the electrical connector.

How to Remove and Install an Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on Jeep Wrangler?

You'll find the IMT sensor next to the throttle body inside the intake manifold plenum. First, detach the electrical connector from the IMT sensor and next, take out the sensor from the intake manifold. Put the IMT sensor in the intake manifold, tighten it to a torque of 28 N.m (20 ft. lbs.) and then connect the electrical connector to it.
