2005 Jeep Liberty Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Heater Core on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: To service the heater core, first unattach and remove the vehicle's negative battery cable, leaving it disconnected for two minutes to turn off the air bag system. After removing the HVAC housing, if needed, loosen and remove the two screws that keep the heater core in the housing. Carefully lift and pull away from the heater core's retainers until the unit comes out. Install the new or fixed heater core into the HVAC housing, then push the top down until the retaining tabs secure it. When needed, set the two screws into their holes in the heater core and tighten them to 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.). When performed, flush the system and replace the HVAC housing after you change the heater core.
