2006 Chrysler Pacifica Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: First, hold the brake master cylinder down in a vice by the flange to bleed it, but make sure to keep pressure off the piston rod, reservoir, seal and body. For every outlet port, fit one Adapter, Special Tool 8822-2 and make sure it is tightened to 14 Nm (120 inch lbs.), then thread in a Bleeder Tube, Special Tool 8358-1 and tighten it to the same amount. Bend the bleeder tubes and insert their mouths below any fluid level in the reservoir. Add Mopar Brake Fluid or another fluid that follows DOT 3 to the reservoir and make certain the fluid goes above the bleeder tube tip to avoid air getting inside the system. Take a wooden dowel in hand and press down the brake master cylinder pistons slowly, release them and perform this action repeatedly until all bubbles disappear. After the bleeding, pull the bleeder tubes out from the outlet ports, seal the ports and place the fill cap on the reservoir. Next, take the brake master cylinder from the vise and make sure to place it correctly in its original place on the vehicle.
