2006 Dodge Durango Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Blend Door Actuator on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: Service and repair of the rear blend door actuator should start with disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable. Pull out the rear quarter panel trim on the right of the car and unscrew the four bolts that join the backend blend door actuator to the metal wall of the rear HVAC unit. Unplug the rear HVAC wire harness connector from the rear blend door actuator and remove the actuator from its spot in the housing. To install, put the rear blend door actuator next to the rear HVAC housing, checking that the spline on the actuator's shaft lines up with the spline on the rear actuator coupler. Secure the actuator by adding the screws and tightening each to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Plug in the back HVAC wire harness at the actuator, wedge the quarter panel trim into place and attach the other end of the negative battery cable. After that, go to the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool.
