2006 Jeep Liberty Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Repair and Service a Blend Door Actuator on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: To work on or repair a blend door actuator with air bags present, first cut off the negative battery cable and give the system's capacitor two minutes to discharge completely. Before doing anything, turn the ignition key so that it's On and set your A/C-heater to medium temperature for about 10 seconds. Take the instrument panel out of the car and then unscrew the blend door actuator at its top near the heater core, being sure to note its shaft position for later use. Take the blend door actuator out of the HVAC housing and disconnect the cable wiring connector. For installation, set the blend door actuator into place on the HVAC housing, match up the actuator spline with the door spline and twist the actuator if needed. After installing and tightening the three screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.), reconnect the wire harness connector to the actuator and put the instrument panel back in place.
