2007 Jeep Liberty A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the A/C Accumulator from the HVAC System on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: Stop the refrigerant flow by isolating the negative battery cable and after that take out the accumulator. Unconnect the wire lead and connector from the low pressure switch in the A/C, then take out the switch from the accumulator. After that, take out the two nuts that hold the accumulator bracket to the dash panel. When using a LHD model, take out the secondary retaining clip from the suction line spring-lock coupler and use a proper A/C line disconnect tool (Special Tool Kit 7193) to separate the rear of the A/C suction line from the evaporator tube. To service RHD models, unscrew the bolt that secures the rear of the A/C suction line to the A/C evaporator and pull off the line. Detach the nuts that hold the sections of the A/C suction line to the accumulator and take the lines off of it. Lastly, pull out the AC accumulator and bracket from under the hood all together and if you need to, separate the bracket from the accumulator. Remove the O-rings, then put plugs in or cover the open refrigerant line fittings and the ports on the accumulator and evaporator with tape.
