2007 Jeep Liberty A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the A/C Condenser to Prevent Compressor Damage on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: It is necessary to adjust the refrigerant oil before servicing the A/C to protect the compressor. Should only the A/C condenser be getting replaced, fill 30 milliliters (one fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil recommended for the compressor into the vehicle. Opening a refrigerant line always requires changing the original O-ring seals to prevent leaks. Position everything in the air intake system at the correct levels for effective A/C and engine cooling. First, place the A/C condenser into the engine compartment and secure the lower condenser brackets to the radiator. Fasten the brackets that hold the upper condenser to the radiator using two bolts and tighten each to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Position the transmission cooler towards the radiator if needed and install both of the retaining bolts, tightening all to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Set the upper radiator crossmember in place and when that is done, take off the tape and remove the plugs in the refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports. Put a little oil on the new rubber seals and then fit them onto the fittings with only R-134a system-specific O-rings. Connect both lines from the A/C system to the AC condenser and tighten the retaining nuts to 22.5 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Attach the negative battery cable, evacuate the refrigerant and when you replace the A/C condenser, put in 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil. Make sure to fill the refrigerant system.
