How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on Chrysler 300?

Before servicing the blower motor resistor, people with air bag vehicles should turn off the air bag system by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable for no less than two minutes until the air bag system capacitor discharges. Let the blower motor resistor sit for five minutes after it has been used, because it may get very hot when turned on. Take care not to operate the blower motor if the resistor is removed, to protect your vehicle. First, unplug the negative battery cable and afterward remove the glove box from its mounting on the instrument panel. Release the tab that holds the connector and pull it out from the blower motor resistor. Take out the two screws fixing the resistor in the HVAC housing and remove the part. Put the blower motor resistor into the HVAC housing and lock it with the two screws, tightening them to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). After reconnecting the wire harness, move the locking tab, put the glove box back in and then link the negative battery cable.

How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on Chrysler Crossfire?

The first step to service the blower motor resistor is to take out the instrument panel's lower cover. Remove the blower motor's electrical connector from the relief in its door, then press the catch mounts toward the sides to allow the door to swing down. The electrical connections go only from the harness to the blower motor. Take out the two screws holding the blower motor resistor to the blower motor assembly and then unhook the blue and red electrical leads. Screw the blower motor resistor assembly into the heater case to get it in place. Attach the blue and red wires together, lift the blower door up and put the motor door catch mounts on the inside. After that, join the blower motor's electrical connector and put the lower instrument panel cover back into place.
