- Q: How to Service a Throttle Position Sensor on Chrysler Concorde?A:Start by pulling the negative battery cable away when servicing the Throttle Position Sensor. Pull out the TPS after unplugging the electrical connector and unscrewing the car's mounting screws. When installing, the throttle shaft needs to move into the TPS socket, where the two tabs inside will help support the shaft. A properly indexed TPS can be rotated clockwise a little to match the screw holes in the throttle body and it will feel secure when in that position. Should the sensor not rotate smoothly, place the body with the throttle shaft on the side opposite the tabs in the socket. Tighten all the mounting screws to between 5.1 Nm and 45 in. lbs. After fitting the TPS, make sure the throttle plate is shut; if it is not, change the sensor to the opposite side of the tabs. After that, attach the connector to the TPS and fasten the negative battery cable to finish.
- Q: How to Service a Throttle Position Sensor on Chrysler Town & Country?A:Before servicing the Throttle Position Sensor, disconnect the negative battery cable and take off the connector from the Inlet Air Temperature sensor. Following this, take out the air cleaner box lid and pull the hose off the throttle body. Get rid of the electrical connections at the TPS and the IAC and then remove the control cables from the throttle body. With the three bolts loose, go ahead and pull the throttle body out. Take the purge vacuum line from the throttle body and remove the TPS. First, install the TPS onto the throttle body and then attach the purge vacuum line afterward. Put the throttle body back in place and use the three mounting bolts to secure it after tightening them. Fix the three cables to the throttle body, position the electrical connector with the TPS and do the same with the connector for the IAC. Put the air cleaner box lid back, repair the hose to the throttle body, reattach the electrical connector to the Inlet Air Temperature sensor and hook back the negative battery cable.
