Set the heater core onto the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing when preparing to install it. Take out any tape or plugs from the heater core ports and, if the tubes were removed earlier, put them into place on the vehicle. Before inserting them, apply clean engine coolant to the new rubber O-ring seals and attach them to the heater core tubes using just the recommended O-ring made for the engine cooling system. Join the heater core tubes with the heater core, use bolt 7 to secure them properly by tightening it. Now, install screw 3 and secure the heater core tube retaining bracket 5 to the HVAC housing 6 and tighten it to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Place blend door actuator 1 in the HVAC air distribution box on the passenger side if the vehicle has dual zone heating-A/C. Then, slide in heater core and cover 2 into HVAC housing 3, screwing them in tightly with five 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) fasteners 1. Install the instrument panel and, if pulled out, attach the heater hoses to the heater core tubes in the engine compartment once more. After that, attach the negative battery cable and if the heater core is being changed, drain and refill the engine coolant.
