Before working on the front impact sensor, turn off the SRS system by unattaching and separating the negative cable from the battery for two minutes to isolate the capacitor. Remove the air filter housing to reach the right front impact sensor and you need to raise the vehicle and take out the access plug in the left front wheel house liner to access the left front sensor. Slide the sensor onto the stud on the bracket at the back of the front end module carrier so the anti-rotation pin engages with the notch and the connector is pointing downward. After that, tighten the nut on the sensor to the stud to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.) and don't reattach the negative battery cable until the SRS verification test is finished after you replace any SRS part.
