When working with an air bag that has been deployed, it's important to cover your hands, eyes and arms. Take away the defroster grille from above the instrument panel, then remove the
Glove Box as well. To reach the passenger air bag bracket, pull open the glove box, remove the two screws and lift out the bracket by its tabs. By using a trim stick or a similar wide flat-headed tool, carefully prise apart the passenger air bag door from the instrument panel to separate the snap features. Withdraw the passenger air bag enough to locate the instrument panel wire harness connector, then insert the red locking tool, press the latch tab and pull the connector away from the vehicle. Finally, remove the passenger air bag and its assembly all together from the instrument panel.
