First, turn off the SRS by disconnecting the car's negative
Battery Cable; after two minutes, the internal capacitor will be discharged. Avoid causing anything foreign to enter the driver air bag and never paint the trim covering it since it might stop it from deploying. Move the driver air bag to the right spot alongside the
Steering Wheel so you can link the harness connections at the back of the housing. Press the two air bag inflator connector receptacles onto the corresponding air bag pigtail wire connectors and use pressure to snap the locks into place, where you will hear each connector click. Connect the driver air bag jumper harness connector from the horn switch,
Cruise Control Switches and remote radio switches to the upper Clock Spring rotor receptacles. Be sure to mount the driver air bag in the steering wheel, always avoiding any pressure on the Clock Spring wires or the harness for the driver air bag. Turn the steering wheel to expose the fasteners and then install and tighten the two screws that hold the driver air bag to the steering wheel armature to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.). It is important to not hook up the negative battery cable while undergoing the supplemental restraint system verification check after any servicing.
