Before removing the battery tray, first take the battery out of the tray. If you're removing the left battery tray, ensure you remove the battery temperature sensor too. After that, unscrew the two screws holding the outer side of the battery tray to the fender shield and set them aside. From the engine area, undo the two screws at the rear of the battery tray support that attach to the wheelhouse's top studs. Unbolt the two studs on the battery tray support panel from the underside of the front wheelhouse inner panel and unbolt the large stud plate which holds the battery tray support from the other side. After everything else is done, lift out the battery tray and the plate fixed under it. When using the vehicle speed control package, disconnect the speed control servo from the battery tray on the left. During installation, clean and check the battery tray and then if needed, put the speed control servo assembly into the servo support on the left battery tray. Install the stud plate on the front of the battery tray support, place the battery tray and the stud plate into position on the front wheelhouse inner panel and connect the two nuts and washers with the studs on the frame. Put the stud plate fixing the rear edge of the battery tray support into place below the front wheelhouse inner panel and then loosely insert the two nuts with washers to secure the studs in the front wheelhouse inner panel. After that, fit the outboard screws with washers to the inner fender shield and secure everything with the four nuts locking the support to the studs on the inner panel, all to 15.8 Nm (140 in. lbs.). After fixing the left battery tray to your bike, stick the battery temperature sensor on it and then install the battery into this tray.
