While servicing the A/C refrigerant system, make sure the oil level is corrected or the A/C system may have problems and the compressor may get damaged. Should the A/C evaporator be replaced, pour in 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of the recommended oil. Whenever the A/C expansion valve comes out, change the O-ring seals so there are no leaks and also change any deformed or damaged foam insulation around the evaporator. Install the evaporator into the blower motor and housing first, then attach the blower motor and housing to the HVAC housing, making certain the dowel pins fit in the holes. Fully release the nine yellow retaining tabs and connect the assembly with three screws tightened to 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Lift off any tape or plugs stuck around the evaporator tube fittings, coat the new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil and fit them on the fittings using only the recommended fitments for R-134a. After that, insert the A/C expansion valve to the evaporator tube tapping block, then tighten two bolts to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). If the foam seal is torn or damaged, change it and then fit the new seal around the HVAC housing. Carefully attach the harness to the recirculation door actuator, power module or blower resistor, blower motor and secure them using the retaining clips. After that, put the HVAC housing back and, if the evaporator was renewed, start by adding the proper refrigerant oil to the system, using only the type approved for your A/C compressor.
