The Timing Chain cover comes without bolt holes for the Water Pump, Belt Tensioner, and Power Steering Pump assembly, so you must use the new self-tapping bolts listed in the catalog. Be sure that the valve timing does not change from 40° ATDC. Cover only the needed area with sealer and if porous spots are present around cylinder head gasket sealing areas, put sealant around them as a 2.0 mm ± 0.5 mm bead, tightened within 10 minutes and left without being pressed down or spread. In that specified area, place a 1.5 to 2.0 mm bead of Loctite 5900 or a matching sealer. Mount the timing chain cover up front along with the engine and use thread sealer on the bolts pointed out by the arrows before you join everything. Attach the timing chain cover bolts and tighten them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) and afterwards, fit the timing chain tensioner and tighten it to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). After removing Special Tool 9102 Flywheel Locking Tool, put in the starter, place the upper pan, add the lower pan and end by installing the generator. Before joining the front cylinder head to the timing chain cover, apply a small amount of lubricant to the heads of the head bolt threads and tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (7-15 ft. lbs.). Attach the cylinder head covers, AIR pump, power steering pump, along with the two hoses, two radiator hoses to the water pump, vibration damper, idler pulley, accessory drive belt tensioner, accessory drive belt, radiator fan, and engine cover. Afterward, replace all engine fluids to their required amounts and join the negative battery cable.
