How to Properly Install and Service a Power Steering Hose on Dodge Challenger?

First, fit the pressure hose into the engine compartment from underneath and don't forget to include a new O-ring on its end. Slide a clean O-ring onto the steering gear end of the pressure hose and spread some clean power steering fluid on the O-ring. Now attach the hose to the gear, without tightening the nut as you go. Guide the pressure hose beside the right edge of the engine cradle, push the end of the hose into the routing clamp and rout the return hose nearby. Use screw 4 to secure both hoses to the right of the engine cradle. Thread the pressure hose under the engine cradle and snug the routing clamp to the screw, installing screw 5 at the front. Screw the pressure hose tube nut at the steering gear firmly until it reaches 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.); after that, put on the belly pan. Ok, drive the vehicle down and place another O-ring on the terminal on the pressure hose. Add clean power steering fluid to the O-ring on the pump side of the pressure hose and then attach it to the pump and tighten the tube nut to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). Attach the air cleaner housing and tube back and connect the negative cable from the battery to the post. After that, fill and bleed the power steering system.

How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose from the Cooler to the Reservoir on Dodge Charger?

Begin by putting one end of the return line under the headlamp mounting crossmember where it emerges from the cooler on the engine compartment side. The hose should be put in routing clip 4 on the headlamp mounting crossmember. If you notice a stripe on return hose 3 as you are installing it, place that stripe at top (12 O'clock position) so you know to route the hose properly. After that, place return hose 3 on top of cooler 1 and fasten it with a clamp. After that, put return hose 1 over reservoir 2 and clamp it in place to hold it. After that, fit the upper radiator hatch pieces and the air cleaner housing which includes the inlet tube. After that, fasten battery negative cable 2 to the battery and make sure you do it correctly and finally bleed and fill the power steering system.
