How to Safely Service the Steering Column Cover and Disarm the Airbag System on Dodge Challenger?

Disarming the air bag system is necessary before fixing the steering column to prevent it from accidental deployment and harm to a person. Take out and remove the steering column control module 1 from within the column. After that, pull out cover 1 off the steering column opening and remove piece 1 as well. Once that's done, take out the cluster bezel. Push forward on the locking tab of the adjustment handle to release the handle 2 from the column. In the end, take out the three cover mounting screws, remove the roll top cover and the manual tilt and telescope handle.
