How to Remove and Replace the Brake Caliper on an SRT8 on Dodge Challenger?

Before you change the SRT8's front brake caliper, disconnect the negative cable from the battery post where it is attached. Attach a brake pedal holding tool and move the brake pedal down far enough that the head of the tool seats against the brake pedal pad. Holding the brake pedal in this position with the tool will help keep the master cylinder apart from the hydraulic part of the brake system and stop the brake fluid from draining out of the reservoir. First, lift the vehicle, then remove the nuts from the wheel mounting studs and the tire and wheel together. Then, take out the banjo bolt connecting the flexible hose to the caliper; you will notice the removal of two washing pieces, so toss them and get new sealers for the new bolt when you install it. Always use a slim trim tool or something similar when moving the pistons back into the calipers so you don't harm the brake surface. Put the trim stick behind the brake pad and against the rotor's outer edge, then press the brake pad until both sides of the caliper are bottomed out completely. Perform this process again on the opposite side when required. Take out the bolts that hold the caliper to the knuckle and then lift off the caliper with its pads. If brake pads require removal from the caliper, first use the correct steps. It is important to know that these calipers cannot be fixed or opened.

How to Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on Dodge Charger?

To deal with the brake caliper on an all-wheel-drive vehicle, always start by disconnecting the battery negative cable from the battery post. Slide a brake pedal holding tool under the pedal to push it further than the first inch and hold it there, to block brake fluid from leaving the brake reservoir while the hydraulic brake lines are open. Then, lift and support the car, unscrew the nuts from the wheel mounting point and remove the whole assembly including the tire. Take out the banjo bolt holding the flexible brake hose to the caliper, as it is likely to bring off two sealing washers; discard the old ones and replace them when you assemble again. Keep the guide pins in place while you work and remove the bolts that secure the caliper guide pins. After finishing the process, uninstall the brake caliper off the brake adapter and pads.
