Check the brake pads before trying to remove and install the brake rotor/disc on the front. Remove debris or corrosion from the face of the hub where the rotor is attached. Slide the brake rotor over the facing studs which connect the hub and bearing. First, attach the disc brake caliper and the adapter over the brake rotor and after that, fasten the adapter to the knuckle by tightening the mounting bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). With RWD, put the disc brake caliper and adapter assembly on top of the brake rotor and bolt the caliper adapter to the knuckle with specified bolts, tightening them to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Then, put in the wheel and tire as a set, tightening the wheel mounting nuts to 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.) or 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.) for vehicles used by the police. Make sure no fluid comes out by lowering the car and pressing the brake pedal several times, then you can begin to move the vehicle. Regularly test and modify the brake fluid level found in the reservoir when needed. If you install new brake rotors or pads, you may notice that the brakes do not work as well on your first few uses. Whenever new brakes or rotors are put on a Police Package vehicle, burnishing should be done by the police in a secure and supervised area. When you drive your car, stop the vehicle a few times to burnish the brake shoes if necessary, since this is required.
