Remove the Egr valve assembly from your engine and then remove the four mounting screws from the motor. Remove the valve motor and shim from the Egr valve housing, making sure you save them to be used again for assembly, so that the original parts go back on the original Egr housing. Gently push the valve spring retainer to unlock the keepers; if this isn't enough, use a little hammer and a deep socket to remove them, being sure not to hit the valves with the hammer. After that, unbolt the valve stem and valve spring retainer and valve spring, then softly force the valve faces away from the seats by pressing on the valve stem. Apply a brush to the outside of the Egr valve housing, the shaft and the valve seats to remove dirt or soot that does not adhere. Soak the entire inside valve housing in one part Mopar Egr System Cleaner and four parts hot tap water for an hour. Join the valve spring and its retainer with the housing, place the valve keepers into position and press on the retainer until the keepers attach to the valve stem. Set the original shim and motor inside the housing, connect the motor's wiring toward the front of the vehicle, secure it with four screws and reconnect the Egr valve assembly to the engine.
