Lubricate the camshaft lobes and bearing journals and then helpfully put the camshaft into the engine. After that, mount the camshaft tensioner plate and tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). After fitting the chain and sprockets, measure the camshaft end play. If the reading is off, put in a new thrust plate. Reinstall the oil pump after each tappet is correctly adjusted and replaced, if the camshaft is replaced. Insert the tappets and retainer assembly and then put in the right and left cylinder heads with all pushrods properly resettled. After installing the rocker arms and shaft assembly, tighten the rocker arm shaft bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.), following the right order. Now, begin by putting in the timing chain cover, oil pick-up tube and oil pan. Install the intake manifold using the sequence, tightening the bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.), then put on the cylinder head covers, the A/C compressor, generator and accessory drive belt. First put in the radiator, air cleaner housing and clean air tube and then connect the negative battery cable. Oil the cooling system and engine, install the engine covers and after that, start the engine to spot any possible leaks.
