First, push down slightly on the secondary chain tensioner piston and check that it is flush with the body, next remove the ratchet pawl and push the ratchet device approximately 2 mm away from it, put Tensioner pin 8514 into the front hole on the tensioner and finally remove the ratchet device together with the pawl. Over the oil pump, secure the primary chain tensioner and then tighten the lower two bolts to 28 Nm. Instal both the right and left side chain guide and tensioner arms each with a Torx bolt and tighten each to 28 Nm. After that, put the right side chain guide on and secure the bolts to 28 Nm. Place the secondary chains over the idler sprocket and place the camshaft chain holder 8429 where the lower sides can clearly see the plated links. At the front, place the largest chain double plated link on the timing mark at 12 o'clock on the idler sprocket and place the smaller single plated link on the timing mark at 6 o'clock on the crankshaft sprocket. Next, lubricate the idler shaft and bushings, install the chains and sprockets as an assembly and snap in the idler sprocket, reflecting on the fact that the timing marks must align before you completely seat the idler sprocket. Add lubricant, fully tighten the assembly retaining bolt to 34 Nm and turn each camshaft a bit as needed to get the idler sprocket on the chain. Line up the left camshaft sprocket "L" dot and the right camshaft sprocket 'R' dot with the plated links on the chain after removing the extra oil from the camshaft sprocket bolts so that over-torque is prevented. After taking out the Secondary Camshaft Chain Holder 8429, position both sprockets onto the camshafts without tightening any bolts yet, then check that all of the plated links are following the marks on the sprockets and that V6 is at the top. Attach both the secondary chain tensioners and tighten their bolts using 28 N m, but do not manually extend the ratchet after removing the tensioner pins. Apply Spanner Wrench 6958 using Adaptor Pins 8346 to tighten up the left and right camshaft sprocket bolts to 122 Nm. After that, make the engine rotate twice and check that the timing marks are where they should be. Squirt engine oil over each chain and watch out for the idler gear's end play, ensuring it is between 0.10 and 0.25 mm; if it's not, exchange the idler gear. Cover the timing chain, fix the crankshaft damper and install the covers on the cylinder head. Don't forget to grease the Mopar plug with Teflon sealant before tightening each of them to a 81 Nm torque. Assemble the oil fill housing, put the access plug into the left cylinder head, fasten the power steering pump and then add coolant and attach the negative cable to the battery.
